Second Life's First Real Millionaire

I still don't get Second Life. I'm just now getting my First Life (har de har har har). But Second Life somehow has just made Anshe Chung a real world millionaire. Go figure. Maybe I'll get a second life soon. Bookmark or blogroll me at http://www.paulamooney.blogspot.com/ and drop back in some day to see what I'm up to next. Eminem's Pre-Up Mixtape Lyrics...Is Eminem Predicting His Own Death?

Eminem's Pre-Up mixtape lyrics to Public Enemy #1 -- a song on the pre-release mixtape prior to Eminem Presents the Re-Up releases next week and those Re-up lyrics explode across the net -- are amazing and listed below. Eminem's flow , his cadence, his rhythm and his lyrics, lyrics, lyrics are usually pretty tight, though his flow falters a bit over his history lesson lyrics in Public Enemy #1, but the pre-up is only a mixtape. Not one cuss word on this version of Eminem's mix-tape , where his Public Enemy #1 lyrics talk about death a lot. I still love Eminem's flow and some of his lyrics as in years past ( Now it's a tragedy, now it's so sad to see.. .) but not ( trick you make me earl). Enimem's Pre-Up Mixtape Lyrics to Public Enemy #1 [Phone ringing] Hello? [Beep…gun rat-tat-tating] What up. Hello? Yo I can't…I can't hear you…[shhh] let me call you right back I sense someone's happening and my phone's wired…ooh I got this feeling in

Free Movie Downloads from AOL Video on Saturday Only

According to TechCrunch and DigitalJournal , AOL Video is giving away over 30 free movie downloads for one day only on Saturday. Sounds like mostly Christmas movies like National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and Jack Frost , but also Spiderman 2 . The free stuff starts at 6:00 a.m. EST and there's a limit of one movie per person, not computer. Let's see...should I wake up for this? James Kim and Family Missing

Both TWit and Engadget and Crave are reporting that James Kim , CNET's senior editor of digital audio, and his family have gone missing. They look like a beautiful family...I pray for their safe return home. Here is the official missing persons' report. The San Francisco Police Department is asking the public’s help in locating the Kim family. Eva Longoria and Tony Parker Engaged to be Married

According to Eva Longoria's rep, Eva Longoria and Tony Parker are engaged to be married. Funny, last I heard Eva Longoria and Tony Parker were far from being engaged to be married, and had broken up. It was so sad, because I could tell how much Eva Longoria loved Tony Parker and wanted to be married to him. Eva Longoria was always like " Tony Parker this... Tony Parker that..." but now I guess Miss Longoria (soon-to-be Mrs. Parker after they are married?) is over the moon for her man. Boy, writing for SEO really makes one type weird and repeat names like Eva Longoria and Tony Parker much more often than my college writing teachers would've recommended. Dr. Oz on Oprah: 35 lb Weight Loss Equals One Inch of...

...growth in a man's penis length . "I never heard that before!" Oprah exclaimed to the fascinating Dr. Oz as he returned to her show today, advising overweight men that extra girth around the belly and groin area can actually subtract from the length of the penis . Fascinating! If that's not motivation for hefty men to drop 35 lbs. I don't know what is. But mostly the show was increased inspiration to eat better and not die from our horrible eating habits as a society. No doubt Dr. Oz's book will sell out soon: Bookmark or blogroll me at http://www.paulamooney.blogspot.com/ and drop back in some day to see what I'm up to next. Danny DeVito Drunk on The View Calls Bush...

..."numb nuts" and such. Boy, if you didn't catch ol' drunk Danny DeVito slurring on The View today, you missed a show! But catch Danny DeVito on The View right now and watch ol' Danny boy's routine highly disrespecting Bush and going on about Danny and Rhea getting busy in the White House and everything. DeVito made me laugh when I watched him on the copy of The View I TiVo'd today, because I was so stressed out with my kids that I'd grabbed a tiny bottle of white wine to sip before I watched Danny DeVito make a fool of himself. A tipsy person laughing at a drunkard. It was hard not to agree with some of his drunken tirade right after I heard on the news that we might bone up our presence in Iraq with 20,000 more troops. But DeVito took it a little too far, and I'm standing by the man I voted for. The audience laughed at Danny Devito when he hiccupped just like a lush...in the daytime. Now I hear Danny has apologized to Barbara Walters

Digital Camera That Makes You Look Skinnier

You gotta love the folks over at HP for creating these new digital cameras that help make you look skinnier . Even though I can't see a big difference in the before and after effect that HP shows on their site trying to slim down a rotund couple with the digital camera's slimming feature, I'm all for anything that doesn't put weight on me, but claims to do the reverse. And it's cool how you can photoshop your stuff right on the camera itself, as opposed to my current method of downloading my pics to my PC then seeking out whatever free photoshopping software will do the trick before I remember that I own HP Image Zone. Anyhoo, these are all the digital camera that contain the slimming feature , according to HP's site: » HP Photosmart R967 digital camera » HP Photosmart R927 digital camera » HP Photosmart R827 digital camera » HP Photosmart R727 digital camera » HP Photosmart R725 digital camera » HP Photosmart M627 digital camera » HP Photosmart M527

Create Your Own e-Book for Free

If you want to write and sell an e-book for free , here's one way to do it, converting your Microsoft Word (and others?) doc to a PDF file: I created a 50-plus page sample chapter of an eBook which I'm not selling right now (not till the Lord leads me to market it), using this BCL easyPDF Printer Driver . (And they're not paying me to say this, so you can trust -- as always -- that this is a product I believe in.) I use Microsoft Word so I just typed up my document then downloaded the free trial of BCL ebook creator and followed their instructions to print out the doc to a PDF file as opposed to my printer. Unlike other free eBook compilers that splash their logo all across your pages until you buy it, BCL just puts a nice little logo in the bottom right hand corner of your docs. I never did figure out how to create the hyperlinks in my Word doc, maybe I don't have the "MSWord 2000 (or later version) installed in your PC" that BCL requires to do that

Greg Page to Leave The Wiggles

by Paula Neal Mooney GREG PAGE from The Wiggles is sick, and it's odd that I'm tearing up as I read all the reports of Greg Page -- the yellow-shirted guy from The Wiggles -- asking in and between the lines: What are The Wiggles going to say about Greg Page tomorrow at their press conference? What is the mystery illness that has been causing Greg Page to faint? Are The Wiggles going to replace Greg Page , one of The Wiggles' founders, with the understudy, Sam Moran , that's been filling in for Greg Page since he dropped out in July? My sis never cared much for The Wiggles because she says they hardly ever have black folks on their show. From my observations of The Wiggles' shows, I believe she's right. But The Wiggles, after all, are from Australia, and I keep getting reports that Australians aren't too keen on black folks down under. Come and spend your tourist money for sure, scuba dive the Great Barrier Reef, but if you want to pack up and mo

An MP3 Player for Kids: Fisher Price's FP3 Player

I gotta say that this MP3 player for kids from Fisher Price -- called the FP3 player -- how cute! -- is a great idea. Though my money's on their Kid-Tough Digital Camera (my 5-year-old is showing an affinity for snapping pics), I can see why Fisher Price's little FP3, MP3 player for kids is selling out too, with as of this writing (at 1:02 a.m., no less!) eight of the FP3 players going on Amazon for around 83 bucks each. Just imagine how many old ladies desperate parents will be knocking over closer to Christmas to get their hands on an FP3 or two. Ah...tis the season. Forgive me. It's late. I though the brotha was trying to hit on me...

...when he sat behind me on the "el" train as we rode in the middle of the Dan Ryan Expressway towards the end of the line at 95th and State streets. I was in my early 20s, had graduated from Florida A & M University and returned home to Chicago to take whatever job I could get. Back then, in a city like Chi-town, every Tom, Dick and Harry would accost me on the street saying all kinds of weird stuff, so I have to admit I played the brotha off big time when he began chatting me up. Puts me in mind of an LL Cool J song: I tell you "Come here," you say "Meet me half way" 'Cause brothers been poppin' that yang all day Back then brothers were "poppin' that yang all day" long, so when this one began to tell me about his travels to London with Arthur Andersen, I wondered how long it would be till he asked for my phone number. "You should go to London some day," he said. "It's a really cool place for black people."

Paul Mooney on Michael Richards: He cured me of using the n-word.

I love that people confuse me, Paula Mooney , with Paul Mooney the comedian, who has recently spoken out about not using the word nigger anymore in Paul Mooney's stand-up routines because of Michael Richards' tirade. In fact, searches for Paul Mooney have helped certain people stumble upon Paula Mooney's blog and I'm lovin' it too much! It's funny, because I never totally cared for Paul Mooney . He is attractive, as you can tell from his pic. I always liked his honesty -- usually helped along by a drink teetering in his hand and reddened eyes -- but I always thought his humor had a hateful vibe to it. In fact, because of my feelings toward Paul Mooney , I chose not to name my son Paul , but something else that my hubby chose one minute after he was born that goes along nicely with Mooney. So Paul Mooney is getting a lot of attention because surprisingly, the Rev. Jesse Jackson brought Paul Mooney along with other Black leaders on Monday to a press confe

Pam Anderson and Kid Rock to Divorce

Can't say I'm all that surprised that Pam Anderson and Kid Rock are getting divorced after only four months together. Pam Anderson and Kid Rock got engaged in 2002, but broke up the following year. Pam Anderson, of course, was married to Tommy Lee prior to her marriage with Kid Rock. Now it looks like both doomed marriages will end in divorce. Pam Anderson and Tommy Lee had two children together. Pam Anderson and Kid Rock have no children together. On Pam's web site ( PamelaAnderson .com), Pam says about her impending divorce: "Divorce. Yes, it's true. Unfortunately impossible." Of course, those crazy fast reporters over at TMZ have all the Pam Anderson and Kid Rock divorce details, even down to video of the divorce papers. How do they get this stuff? Bookmark or blogroll me at http://www.paulamooney.blogspot.com/ and drop back in some day to see what I'm up to next. White Teddy Bear that Glows in the Dark all the Rage for Christmas

My hubby bought this white teddy bear that glows in the dark -- oddly named the GLO E Teddy Bear (why didn't they just call it "white teddy bear that glows in the dark"? -- for our daughter when she recently turned 4. It is so cool! I'm predicting that this white teddy bear that glows in the dark will be the must have toy of the season. If you get the white GLO E teddy bear that comes with the magic wand, the wand will light up the teddy bear even if someone is holding the wand in another room. My 10- and 12-year-old nephews even had fun with this white glowing teddy bear. My friend's daughter asked if she could take it home Saturday night as they were leaving a dinner party at our home. I said no. Trust me, when this white teddy GLO E bear is glowing all purple and green and pretty colors next to your child in a darkened room, you'll see why I said no. Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth is Armageddon Come to Life

Yesterday I was in pure bliss as my kids and I either biked, jogged or sat like Queen Elizabeth II in a double jog stroller (guess which one) down the lovely 1.6 miles plus of boardwalk trail that is Fort Island, a protected marsh in Ohio. I was soaking up the unusually bright sun and temps that felt like 70 degrees or warmer and loving it...that is, till I got home and watched the DVD version of Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth: The Planetary Emergency of Global Warming and What We Can Do About It and learned why it's been so spankin' warm lately. You can save all those jokes about old stiff Al Gore , this film version of An Inconvenient Truth is his slide show display alive with the true passion of what the man was born to do. I'm still glad I didn't vote for Gore in 2000 -- still glad ol' W was in office during 9/11 (not so much during Hurricane Katrina) -- but this movie shows a side of Gore that is both funny, dead serious and so vulnerable as he talks a

Chanel's Black Nail Polish is 50 Bucks a Bottle...

... on eBay, that is . Technically called Chanel's Black Satin -- and not really black nail polish, but varnis , in the Chanel vernacular -- bottles of the No. 219 nail polish sold out so quickly that Internet entrepreneurs bought up bottles of the Chanel black polish that originally sold at Chanel counters for only $18 per bottle. A big hit during Halloween, I'm guessing Chanel's black polish will make a resurgence during the holidays with all the en vogue skinnies looking for a matte polish to match their sparkling little black dresses. Man, if only I'd bought a bottle or two like all these smarties selling Chanel's Black Satin on eBay ... If only Amazon had Chanel's Black Satin listed in their affiliates program... Update: eBay has their own affiliates program and I joined today! Thank the Lord! C'est la vie! But since Chanel's fancy smanchy polish reportedly won't be back till after Christmas, do what my friend did and fake the look with goo

Will Zune put a dent in Ipod sales?

A month or two ago, I was blessed to e-chat with ex-Microsoft blogger extraordinaire, Robert Scoble of the 20+ million pageview blog, Scobleizer . Back then I asked him if the new Zune was better than the Ipod. Here's what he said. And if you're thinking of buying a Zune for yourself or as a gift this Christmas, here are some accoutrements that can help Zune users download more stuff. Seeing as though I don't own either a Zune or an Ipod yet -- only a freebie Gateway MP3 player that came along with our PC that I must've left in the bathroom too long and steamed up because it only holds 5 songs now -- I can't give my honest feedback till I make enough referral money to buy either one. But if you own the new Zune, let me know how it's working for you. Bookmark or blogroll me at http://www.paulamooney.blogspot.com/ and drop back in some day to see what I'm up to next. Today I joined Amazon's affiliate program...

I figure this critical time before Christmas is the perfect time to start making money by referring products to Christmas shoppers. So yesterday we had the best Thanksgiving dinner with our friend Lu and Lissy. They cook so well and it was just a really chill time. Lissy praised this book, My Sister's Keeper , and as I flipped the book around in my hands, I realized just how long it's been since I've read an entire book. Probably months...a long time for me... Anyhoo, Lissy said when you read it, have two boxes of tissue handy. Sounds awesome, and I trust her recommendations. Buddhist monk cuts off penis...

...and the monk refuses to have his penis reattached after he chopped off his own penis with a machete because he developed an erection during meditation, reports Bangkok-based Kom Chad Luk tabloid on its Web site. After the Thai Buddhist monk cut off his penis with a machete because he had an erection during meditation, he refused to have the penis sewn back on because the monk reportedly told doctors that "he had renounced all earthly cares." The 35-year-old monk -- whose name has not been released -- let doctors at Maharaj hospital care for the wound left from severing his penis, but refused to have the penis sewn back on. I can understand this drastic behavior a bit, though he's Buddhist and probably doesn't live by Jesus' edict that "If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never goes out" that some peope interpret literally. But I wish the monk who c

Monetize Your Blog With Clickbank...

...that's what I'm figuring out how to do now, since my original post about Michael Richards (and hopefully the follow-up ) is getting lots of traffic. So, I found out about ClickBank -- wait a minute...can you get a referral fee from refering folks to ClickBank? -- and whilst perusing ClickBank's marketplace I found this listing about SEO Elite Software that's supposed to help drive a gazillion folks to your blog and get you listed in the top spots on search engines. Since I'm skeptical of ads that shout too loudly, I checked out SEO Elite's Google page rank , which is indeed pretty good at 6. And the "fantasy football contest" guy's testimonial checks out too, he's ranked #1 on Google's search results. So, maybe when I get the 127 bones to spare on this SEO Elite Software , it might be worth a try to pump up my slowly growing Google adsense account. What do you guys think? Anyone out there having success with SEO Elite Software ? Bookma

I finally gave in to Google Adsense...

I know, I know, I'm behind in the Google Adsense game, but I kept removing the adsense code because I didn't always like the ads matched up with my blog postings. How do other folks get around this ethical issue? And yes, there are a plethora of sites that I guess let you match up specific ads with specific content, but which one is the best? And I guess you can't put Google adsense code (images only?) in each blog post like I just tried because Blogger Beta's not putting up with the script tag. ...and another thing about trade show booths...

...they have some pretty "show stopping" trade show graphics these days. Maybe, just maybe, if the trade show exhibits I went to during the '80s and '90s had table top to 20-foot stuff like this, I wouldn't have ditched the New Orleans conference and caught a Greyhound over to Tallahassee, Florida, to hang out with who's now my ex-husband. When Chris proposed to me...

...it was February 15, 1997, a day that I'll never forget. (He wanted to wait till the day after Valentine's Day just to be different.) We were in Phoenix at The Buttes hotel in a hot tub built into the mountain side. " Everything's perfect..." I mused, looking at the flecks of crystal sparkling in God's sky, "...the stars, the night..." "There's only one thing missing..." Chris teased. "What could be missing?" I asked. "If you would do me the honor of becoming my wife," Chris answered, then -- bam ! -- pulled out a box containing one of those beautiful emerald cut diamond engagement rings that would put that old cat on Tom & Jerry to shame. If you're a guy with a good woman that you know you need to put a ring on, check out Danforth Diamond for some cool rings that look pretty hot and don't cost a whole lot. It's been a long time since I've been to a trade show...

...(if ever) since I left corporate America to become a blog-at-home mom. And I was never on the exhibition end of things, lugging around heavy whiteboards and such for bored participants to stare thru. But it looks like the folks at ExhibitDEAL are trying to avoid neck and back pains and that alabaster boredom from these sweet-looking and lightweight displays. They have a bunch of trade show booth needs like table throws, literature racks, and everything in between. Any of you exhibitors using them for the next BEA convention, hit me up and let me know how it went. Sponsored by Blogging Ads , where bloggers can blog for money Thanks for reading! 37 by Maria Beaumont looks promising...

...just from the title 37 alone -- maybe it speaks so much to me because that's the age I am now -- and this description from my Publisher's Marketplace Lunch Weekly email that's been waiting in my inbox till I blogged this: Maria Beaumont's 37 , the story of a surprisingly desperate housewife suffocating in her own life and her downward spiral into depression, then her renewal and rebirth, [sold] to Ellen Archer and Pamela Dorman at Voice, by Grainne Fox at Ed Victor Ltd. (US). The only thing I found on Amazon by Maria Beaumont is this Miss Fit paperback and something called Marsha Mellow and Me . Catchy titles. Haven't read either yet.
